Since we are members of GMEE, the Italian Association of Electrical and Electronic Measurements, we presented our works at the XLI National Conference of Electrical and Electronic Measurements organized in San Vincenzo, Italy.

Irene and Carlo have attended the International Ph.D. School “Italo Gorini” 2024 in Siena focused on “Sensors and Metrology for Bio Applications”. The event offered invaluable knowledge about the innovation of measurement systems and technologies, highlighting their profound influence on science and engineering.
They won the second place in the final project, where Irene also had the pleasure of presenting during the concluding session.

Carlo has attended the Italian Conference on Optics and Photonics ICOP organized by SIOF Ottica in Florence.
He has presented a poster about our work on “Absorption-Based, Label-Free Urea Detection in Water Solutions” and he has won the best poster award.

Valentina has attended the International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference IEEE I2MTC in Glasgow.
She was honored to co-chair the session “Instrumentation and Measurement in Agriculture, Food Production and Food Safety” and to present our work on speckle pattern imaging for food safety controls on milk.

Elisabetta Bodo, PhD student of the XXXVI cycle in Microelectronics, who carries out her research at the Electrooptics Laboratory of the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering of the University of Pavia, won the prize established in memory of Prof. Felice Cennamo for the best work presented orally by a young researcher at the VII National Forum of Measures, annual congress of the Group of Electrical and Electronic Measurements, which took place in Bologna from 13 to 15 September 2023.

Valentina Bello, PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Pavia, currently a researcher at the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering, was interviewed by the IEEE Photonics Society.
Valentina – who was the winner of the Prize for the best PhD thesis in applied photonics published by the IEEE Photonics Society Italian Chapter – talked about her studies, the birth of her interest in photonics and biophotonics, of his current research activities and also of his passions outside the laboratory.

We joined the summer school ‘Mems Before And After 2025: From Application Requirements And Theoretical Aspects To Practical Design Approach‘.
Professor Sabina Merlo gave the lecture “Electromechanical characterization of M(O)EMS by spot optical interferometric techniques”.
Valentina and Elisabetta joined the summer school.
Thanks to the organizers from Politecnico di Milano for the organization of this great event.
